Bar position is everything and to ride with a bar far away from your hips and to be in the ""Poo" stance is bad for learning tricks and even harder on your forearms. A comfortable stance and short, easy sheeting, for maximum depower, are the key to; learning moves, riding for long periods and of course, looking good! We've been playing around with different bridal modifications and bar changes to provide a softer feel to the bar when under-powered or in light to moderate winds. One of them is as follows and it is a simple and quick way to reduce bar pressure. This is not an essential fix, but an adjustment for under-powered flying.

You will need the following to complete this simple modification and no degree is necessary. - Shockwave Kite
- A spare pig tail or a piece of bridal line or rope (5-6cms)
- a spare 5 minutes
Step 1 Roll out your kite and separate your bridals as per usual pre-flight safety check. Step 2 Locate the rear hang point (pic 1) and follow the bridal to where it joins your rear line's attachment point (pic 2.) Pic 1  Pic 2Step 3 Remove the line that attaches to the rear hanging point (pic 1) and set aside (pic 3.) Pic 3
Step 4 Tie on the old pig tail to the rear hang point of the kite (pic 4.)
 Pic 4 Step 5 Now thread the removed bridal line through the loop (pic5) of the pig tail and back through it's self (pic6.)  Pic 5
Now re-thread the loose end of the bridal line back onto the rear attachment point (pic 7.)
 Pic 7 Step 7 Ensure that all knots and lines are in their correct position and are secure. Repeat these steps for the other side of the kite and take care to not twist the line through other parts of the bridal for safe flying. END These changes create a lighter feel to the Shockbar but remember, keep the bar closer to your body and envisage a hard boiled egg between your buttocks! If you drop the egg, you are pooing! Not good for style, endurance or learning new tricks! Clench your cheeks!
